In individual therapy I help my clients to cope with sudden, urgent or long-term difficulties. My therapy is aimed at helping them manage their traumas from early childhood or traumas acquired during their lives. I also work with adults who experience some form of violence and manipulation.
Using individual therapy makes it possible for the therapist to focus and devote all their time to just one client, their experiences, emotions, difficulties and suffering. It gives the therapist a chance to understand the client’s fears, pains and repeating patterns of behaviour more deeply.
The therapist works with the inner dynamics and perceptions of the client. She has enough room to discern the causes and sources of the client’s problems which plague them at present but whose roots may lie deeper in the past, in previous relationships and the family of origin. The very understanding of the causes usually brings partial relief and easing of tensions.
The relation between client and therapist is absolutely confidential.
Individual therapy usually takes place once a week, the frequency of meetings can be discussed at the beginning of the collaboration, but also during the course of sessions. One session is 50 minutes.
